About OfferSentry

Helping job seekers pause before a scammer profits

OfferSentry is a free educational tool that helps people recognize common warning signs in job listings, recruiter messages, and employment offers.

Why we exist

Job hunting should create opportunities—not unnecessary risk.

Fraudulent recruiters often imitate real companies, promise unusually high pay, conduct interviews through messaging apps, or ask applicants to send money and sensitive information.

These messages can look convincing, especially when someone is eager to begin a new job. OfferSentry was created to give job seekers a quick first check before they respond.

Our principles

Simple, private, and practical

OfferSentry is designed to provide understandable guidance without making promises an automated checker cannot keep.

1

Privacy first

The current checker analyzes pasted text inside your browser. OfferSentry does not require an account.

2

Clear explanations

Results identify suspicious patterns and explain why each pattern deserves additional verification.

3

Independent verification

Users are encouraged to contact employers through independently located company websites and telephone numbers.

Important limitations

A screening result is not a guarantee.

OfferSentry provides educational information.

No automated tool can conclusively prove that a job offer is legitimate or fraudulent. A message with no detected warning signs may still be a scam, and a legitimate message may occasionally contain language that resembles a warning sign. Always verify the employer independently and never send money, passwords, banking information, or sensitive identity documents to an unverified contact.

Check a suspicious offer

Paste the message into OfferSentry for a quick first review.
