Who is responsible
OfferSentry was founded by Nehal Patel, who serves as its founder and editor. He reviews educational pages and the wording used around OfferSentry’s automated tools. Article bylines identify the author responsible for the page.
How we research
We prioritize primary and authoritative sources such as consumer-protection agencies, government identity-recovery resources, financial regulators, and official reports from the platforms or services involved. We use those sources to understand common scam patterns and practical safety steps, then write the explanation in our own words for job seekers.
When a source is relevant to a guide, we link to it in that guide’s “Sources and further reading” section. A source link does not mean that an agency endorses OfferSentry.
How we write about risk
- We describe observable warning signs, not certainty about a person’s intent.
- We do not state that a company, recruiter, or job offer is fraudulent solely because a tool found a signal.
- We explain the next verification step whenever possible.
- We distinguish educational guidance from legal, financial, employment, or identity-theft advice.
- We do not accept payment to change the substance of an educational guide or its safety conclusion.
Updates and corrections
We review and update material when safety guidance changes, links break, or a job-scam pattern needs clearer explanation. Pages show a publication or updated date when available. If we make a material correction, we update the page rather than silently leaving a known error in place.
Report a problem with a page
If you find an error, outdated link, unclear statement, or missing context, contact us with the page URL and a short explanation. We will review the request and correct verified issues. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank information, passwords, or other sensitive information.
