The short version
OfferSentry's message checker and ResumeShield privacy scanner analyze text directly inside your browser. Pasted messages, resume files, and extracted resume text are not intentionally transmitted to or stored by OfferSentry.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the OfferSentry website located at offersentry.com, including the job-offer checker and informational pages published on the website.
2. Information entered into our tools
OfferSentry’s job-offer message checker analyzes pasted messages locally in the user’s browser. Pasted job messages are not intentionally transmitted to OfferSentry or stored in an OfferSentry database.
ResumeShield reads supported PDF, DOCX, TXT, and MD files and analyzes their extracted text in the user's browser. Resume files, extracted text, and generated redactions are not intentionally transmitted to OfferSentry or stored in an OfferSentry database. After a scan, the page may send an empty aggregate-use event that contains no filename, file contents, resume text, detected value, selection, or result.
The recruiter verification tool performs its initial comparison locally. To retrieve public registration dates and mail-record information, it sends only normalized domain names, such as company.com, to OfferSentry’s Cloudflare Worker.
The recruiter verification tool does not send the complete recruiter email address or complete job-posting URL for these live lookups. Normalized domains are temporarily processed and sent to the authoritative public RDAP registry service and Cloudflare’s DNS service. OfferSentry does not save these domain searches or their results in its database.
Hosting, registry, and DNS providers may process technical information required to provide, secure, and complete these requests. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Please do not enter passwords, Social Security numbers, banking information, home addresses, identification numbers, or other highly sensitive personal information into OfferSentry.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, OfferSentry’s hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information when you visit, including:
- Your Internet Protocol address
- Browser and device information
- The date and time of a request
- Requested pages and basic referral information
- Security, diagnostic, and performance information
This information may be processed to deliver the website, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and maintain security and performance.
4. Hosting and service providers
OfferSentry is hosted using Cloudflare infrastructure. Cloudflare may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. You can learn more by reading Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy .
5. Payments
OfferSentry may accept voluntary payments through Stripe. When you choose to make a payment, Stripe collects and processes the information needed to complete the transaction, which may include your name, email address, billing information, payment details, device information, and transaction information.
OfferSentry does not receive or store your complete payment-card number. OfferSentry may receive limited transaction information from Stripe, such as the payment amount, payment status, date, and customer contact information.
Stripe processes this information under its own Privacy Policy .
6. Cookies and analytics
OfferSentry uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and performance. This may include page views, visits, referring websites, general geographic information, browser or device information, and page-loading performance.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed without using cookies, localStorage, or similar browser storage to identify visitors. OfferSentry does not use this analytics information to identify individual visitors.
OfferSentry also records aggregate conversion counts when visitors click certain internal links, such as a link from a guide to the Job Scam Safety Checklist. The counter stores fixed labels describing the source page, destination, total number of clicks, and time of the most recent click. The OfferSentry D1 counter does not store names, email addresses, account identifiers, cookies, pasted messages, checklist selections, or visitor IP addresses.
OfferSentry does not currently use advertising cookies or intentionally place cookies for personalized advertising. Our infrastructure provider may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies for security, traffic management, and fraud prevention.

If OfferSentry introduces advertising or other cookie-based services, this policy will be updated and any legally required consent controls will be added.
7. Voluntary payments
OfferSentry may accept voluntary one-time payments to help maintain its educational resources and tools. These payments are not charitable donations, are not tax-deductible, and do not purchase ownership, membership, professional services, or access to special screening results.
OfferSentry’s core safety resources remain free. Making a payment does not affect the availability, content, or outcome of any OfferSentry checker or verification tool.
Payments are processed by Stripe and are generally final and nonrefundable, except where required by law or expressly agreed by OfferSentry.
8. Advertising
OfferSentry does not currently display third-party advertisements. If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated to identify relevant advertising partners and explain applicable choices regarding cookies and personalized advertising.
9. Third-party links
OfferSentry links to independent websites, such as government reporting services. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies and practices. OfferSentry is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites.
10. Data sharing
OfferSentry does not sell the text entered into its checker. We may share limited technical information when necessary to:
- Operate, host, and secure the website
- Comply with applicable law or valid legal requests
- Investigate fraud, abuse, or threats to users and the service
- Protect the rights and safety of OfferSentry and others
11. Data retention
OfferSentry does not intentionally retain the job or recruiter messages entered into the current checker.
Technical logs maintained by infrastructure providers may be retained according to their security, operational, and legal requirements.
Aggregate conversion totals may be retained to measure whether OfferSentry resources are useful. These totals are not connected to individual visitors and cannot be used by OfferSentry to reconstruct a person’s browsing history.
12. Children’s privacy
OfferSentry is intended for a general audience and is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
13. Security
We use reasonable measures intended to protect the website. However, no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when OfferSentry’s features, service providers, advertising practices, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
15. Contact
Privacy questions can be submitted through the OfferSentry Contact page once it is available. Please do not include passwords, banking details, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive information in a privacy inquiry.
